How to Choose a Clan That Actually Helps You Progress
The clan you join matters more than almost any single upgrade decision you'll make, and most players pick one almost at random — they tap the first clan that accepts them and stay until it goes inactive. A good clan accelerates everything: faster upgrades from donations, free magic items and medals from war, and people who'll actually teach you to attack. A bad one quietly stalls you for months. Here's how to tell them apart before you join.
What a good clan is actually worth to you
Be clear on what you're shopping for, because it's concrete progression, not just vibes:
- Donations fill your army instantly so you attack more and lose less waiting. A clan with active, generous donors saves you real hours every week.
- Regular war and CWL are a steady income of magic items, medals, and resources you can't farm efficiently any other way.
- Knowledge. A clan with strong attackers who share replays and advice will improve your win rate faster than any guide — including this one.
A clan that delivers those three is worth more to your account than most things you can buy. One that delivers none is just a chat room.
The green flags
When you scout a clan, look for:
- War frequency and a win streak. A clan that wars constantly and wins is organized and active — exactly what you want. The war log (if public) tells you everything.
- Activity, not just member count. A "45/50" clan can be mostly dead. Look at donations-this-season and whether chat has recent messages.
- A clear description with rules. "Must use both war attacks, donate what's requested" signals a clan that's run on purpose. Vague or empty descriptions usually mean drift.
- A Town Hall range near yours. You want to be in the middle of the pack, not the smallest base getting matched up in every war.
- Reasonable requirements. Sensible donation and war expectations are a good sign — they keep the clan healthy.
The red flags
Walk away from:
- A private war log. Sometimes innocent, but often hides a losing or inactive clan. The healthiest clans are usually proud to show it.
- "All welcome, no rules." Friendly in theory; in practice it's how clans fill with members who never donate or attack, and it won't last.
