Clan Capital: How to Contribute Efficiently
The Clan Capital is the part of Clash of Clans most players treat as an afterthought — they throw their attacks at it on the weekend without much thought, or skip it entirely. That's a mistake, because the Capital is one of the best sources of Raid Medals, which buy some of the most valuable items in the game. Played even slightly deliberately, it's a steady stream of rewards for a few minutes of attacking. Here's how to contribute in a way that actually helps your clan and maximizes what you get back.
(Evergreen strategy, current through Town Hall 18.)
What you're playing for
Raid Weekends reward the whole clan with Raid Medals, and the amount scales with how much total destruction the clan does across the weekend. Those medals buy high-value shop items — including magic items and resources you'd otherwise grind for. So Capital contribution isn't charity; it's a personal income stream that happens to be cooperative. The better your clan raids together, the more you earn.
There are two ways to contribute, and they matter in different proportions:
- Your raid attacks during Raid Weekend (the big one).
- Capital Gold donations toward upgrading your clan's Capital districts.
Raid attacks: the rules that actually move the needle
Raid Weekend attacks aren't like a normal war. A few mechanics change how you should play:
- Carry-over damage is the whole game. When you don't fully destroy a building/district, the damage persists for the next attacker. This means finishing what others started is worth more than starting fresh, and leaving a district at 95% for a clanmate to clean up is efficient teamwork. Coordinate so attacks stack on the same district instead of scattering.
- Use all your attacks. You get a base number of attacks, and earning bonus attacks rewards strong finishes. Unused attacks are pure lost medals for you and the clan. The single biggest Capital leak in most clans is members who don't use their attacks — same as in CWL.
- Match your army to the district. Capital armies are pre-set troop types you choose per attack. Learn which compositions clear which district layouts; a couple of reps makes you dramatically more efficient at turning attacks into destruction.
